As the weather cools and the days get shorter, our bodies naturally crave warmth, grounding and nourishment. According to Ayurveda autumn and winter involve Vata when cold, dry and airy qualities dominate. To feel our best, we need to focus on warm, hearty foods that support digestion and keep us grounded.

Herbal Tea Blend
Winter can sometimes throw our digestion, especially with heavier foods. This simple tea blend is great for warming your system and keeping digestion strong. Plus, it’s super easy to make and enjoy throughout the day. You’ll need:
1 tbsp fennel seeds
1 tsp each of dried ginger root, cinnamon chips and lightly crushed cardamom pods
½ tsp licorice root (optional, for sweetness)
Method:
Mix ingredients and store in a jar.
Steep 1 tsp of the blend in a cup of hot water for about 5-7 minutes, strain and enjoy.
It’s perfect after meals or when you need a little digestive boost.
